The INC program is an approved Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) registered nurses (RN) re-entry program. It is designed to provide a pathway for internationally educated nurses to prepare for the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nursing (NCLEX–RN) through the delivery of a 12-month re-entry program. Included are classroom-based modules, self-directed online learning, skills lab, simulation, and supervised clinical practice.
1. Credential evaluation can take four to twelve months to complete, and should be started as soon as possible. Refer to the OSBN website osbn.oregon.gov for a list for approved credential evaluation agencies along with information related to re-entry for foreign educated nurses.
2. Professional level communication skills are essential for safe practice. Participants need to take placement tests for writing, reading and math at their local community college. Please contact INC staff with results.
3. Recent healthcare related employment provides valuable insight into the US healthcare system and professional practice working within a healthcare team. We recommend that participants be employed (or volunteer) in healthcare. Participants who are CNA certified are preferred INC candidates.
